This unit broke during the first use. The slider that holds the wood stuck inside the smoker and the handle broke off when trying to extract the slide. I did use the smoker to cook a brisket without smoke and it worked fine...held the correct temperature perfectly. Company I purchased from still has not answered my email.

I received my MB 30" Electric Smokehouse Smoker from Amazon today, it shipped fast, arrived within 2 days of having ordered it. I did happen to get the more preferable 20070910 model featuring a field-replaceable element in case it burns out, g-d forbid.

I'm in the process of "burning in" the smoker right now and will attempt my first batch of dry-rubbed ribs tomorrow afternoon. Going to try a dry smoke with hickory chips first, 4 hours at 225 degrees according to the scant manual. Next up will be a brisket using a wet mesquite smoke, I expect 6 hours at 220 for a 4 lb flat.

I gave the product 3 stars for fast in-stock shipping, better model number and perfect packaging - though none of these are attributable to the actual smoker I know...

I will update my review as time passes, but so far so good - I just hope mine doesn't take a dump like others' out there have.

Recieved my 30" Smoker August 24 and used it right away!! It smoked the chicken I was testing on it flawlessly. It used way less chips than my gas smoker and maintained a smooth heat to the end.. This makes it very easy to get started smoking foods. I paired it with an internal Digital Thermometer and i didnt have open the main door once. It stays cool to touch and smoke only exits through the top vent. Food was moist and cooked to the bone.

This is a great buy!!!!

I bought this smoker in April. Out of the 4-5 times I have used, I have gotten no smoke. My chips do not burn. I called Masterbuilt customer service twice. The first time, they told me to soak my chips only 15 minutes prior to cooking. Today after a roast cooking for 5 hours at 220 degerees with no smoke, they told me to not soak them at all. Seems to be a bigger problem with the element. My chips get dark but do not smolder. Masterbuild will do NOTHING about it. I am perplexed by the positive reviews and would assume I got a lemon! Out the smoker and about $50.00 worth of meat. Thanks Masterbuilt!

This smoker is as advertised: very easy to use, well built, maintains temperature well, and has ample capacity for most users. Product was delivered faster than promised, and with enough foam insulation to protect it during shipping.
