Way to go Cuisinart! December 24, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have been pleasantly surprised with my griddler. Surprisingly well built, easy to clean, easy to use. For me a bachelor... I use it almost everyday. Cuts down my time in the kitchen so I can can do more enjoyable things.
Perfect for pancakes AND grilled salmon. October 3, 2008 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I haven't had an electric griddle for years. However, we were having trouble getting the temperature regulated so that blueberry pancakes would turn out consistently cooked through at high elevations. I ordered this and it worked perfectly for pancakes. I also set it out on a porch and cooked salmon one night on the ridged side. the salmon was also perfect.
Nice Grill. July 27, 2008 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
We bought this to replace a 10-year old Hamilton-Beach that died on us. It cooks evenly and well. We grilled sliced summer squash, and each piece browned the same, no matter whether it was: in the center or at the far edge. Steak seared nicely, and cooked well. It's not as hot as a gas or charcoal grill, but then the Cancer Society is warning people about cooking meat at too high a temperature. The best part is that the heating element is separate from the grill plates, and the plates fit nicely in the lower rack of our dish washer; that and the included scraping tool make clean-up a snap.
Excellent product June 21, 2008 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
The grill "almost" makes you forgot the outside version. For steaks, the grill marks on the max settings are quite appealing. Pretty easy to clean as well. Haven't used the griddle yet.
Versatile compact counter top grill and griddle December 14, 2007 14 out of 14 found this review helpful
Griddle cakes and sausage, grilled salmon and vegetables, grilling burgers and toasting buns, the Cuisinart GR55 is a versatile compact counter top grill and griddle. The two double sided cooking plates are Teflon coated steel; they're easy to install and remove, and because the plates are non-stick and removable, they're a fast clean. I enjoy the fact can use both grill and griddle at the same time. This is great for cooking for my family, too, because it has plenty of grill surface. The plates always heat up evenly and quickly, and the temperature control gives me a ridiculous amount of control over my food's preparation. The excess grease, when using the grill side of things, runs off into a collection troth that neatly hides and stores inside the grill between the two plates. When releasing the spring-loaded plates from the grill, the rest grease gets collected in the troth as well. It's great to pull out on a lazy Saturday morning or for a quick meal before going out. I'm thoroughly impressed.
