Perfect Solution For Blueclaw Crabs August 10, 2010 Bayman I bought this Stockpot for steaming blueclaw crabs.
It is perfect in size for use on a stove without going to a bigger pot and using a propane tank outdoors.
It can do a half a bushel of crabs at a time.
Stainless steel is the way to go, & reasonably priced too.
It also can be used to make a nice huge batch of clam chowder and even pasta sauce!
It was a great investment for me, that will last a lifetime.
Best Pot I have found July 12, 2010 R. Coonce (NJ) After attempting to buy a black enamel pot and a aluminum pot - thankfully fully returned thru Amazon, I uped my cost by $10 more for the stainless steel pot. Shipped to me in perfect condition (unlike the other two) and have been using this for steaming seafood, cooking corn, etc. Liner basket is easy to use. Easy to clean too.
I dont even like fried food June 28, 2010 skark_burmer (San Jose, Ca) But i love frying a turkey! Mmmmm, good eatin!
My hippie girlfriend says that we should reduce our exposure to aluminum and since most of the frying buckets are aluminum i decided to get some stainless steel buckets to appease her.
These are well made and thick enough to last a long time. It also has the strainer buckets which is nice to have and i have used it 4 times now. The handle is sturdy and i expect many thousands of tasty calories to be produced with these buckets.
5 out of 5 baby!
pinhole leaks after very little use May 24, 2009 a reader (St Paul, MN USA) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I purchased this item in summer '07, and am not sure I have even used it. I washed and stored it, and then today (May 23, 2009) took it out for a shrimp boil. It has several pinhole leaks on the sides near the bottom. I am hopeful that Amazon and Bayou Classic will make good on this product.
Stainless Steel Steamer March 25, 2009 Michele Kampersal (Warwick, RI) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
We used it for a clam bake, and it was great. We cooked 250 little-necks, and then started cooking 8 lobsters while eating the clams. It really made the task easy, and cleanup was a snap ...
